Continuing with our policy of “friendly frames” and “Low cost”, this is the new package from which we will modify many of the Virtualcol FS - Embraer 190-195 Regional Pack. In the package you will find this Embraer -190, operated by SA Airlink in 32bit textures. Has someone experience with this phenomenon. Features the older livery worn by most of the fleet and ZS-YAB which wears the new livery adopted by the airline after it cut ties with South African Airways. And don't try and get away with reduced quality settings. Anything more will do nothing except put more strain on your cpu. To run properly you need the best quad core cpu. It's got to be for the top line,or developers will stand still We often have discussions on whether scenery should be designed for the masses or for the top of line computers. This is designed by experts and is thoroughly beta tested before release.I have no problems of any sort I do almost all my flying in OZ with the ORBX addon scenery. The problem there is the Real NZ addon scenery. It's got nothing to do with fsx. MS seem to design all the FS releases to last four or five years so they design for what they think will be available in the future.I have no problems whatsoever with FSX PCTech: It's a well known fact that the gpu on it's own will do nothing for FSX. pack was just to make more money for Bill. This allows FSX to use multi core cpus as in the original version it didn't support multi core cpus.ĭriftwood: Everythiing in the acceleration pack is included in SP2. If so he needs to buy the FSX Acceleration Expansion Pack. I let FSX adjust the settings automaticlly for my specs. It's always a compromise with MS Flight Sim.Something wrong with your friends computer. I set the max framerate down to an acceptable 25 fps so that the sim can do other stuff (like flying & drawing land textures). Anyway, I can squeeze out 30 fps in the same spot with the Water looking a bit crap, but everything else on high. Of course there are heaps of other sim related settings that can be tweaked as well - but not really related to the GPU.
Nothing else mattered much in terms of graphic settings - I could max out all AA and and Filtering with no change. The only good thing that came out of me stuffing with FSX, was in trying to squeeze a few more fps out, I found the most important factor to be the Water Effects. It's always a compromise with MS Flight Sim.
Stick a new GPU or CPU in your PC and no difference! I think a Super Computer with arrays of CPUs and GPUs would still crawl! :-D It seems that FSX is the worst case scenario for any hardware in the world. I don't believe 3DMark results really reflect real game results though. The only place it made any diff was in the 3DMark2005 results (screen fps looked the same), but score was almost double. Same with GTA San Andreas, and a small improvement in HL2. I ran the HardwareOC Far Cry Benchmark (which runs pretty high anyway - seventies), but was almost exactly the same (maybe 2 frames faster). Oh dear, what can I say but - it runs EXACTLY the same - slow! At NZAA (Auck Intl) where there's a fair bit of detail, on the main runway 5R looking back at the terminal, it ran at 13 fps! Exactly the same as the 7800.
"Got around to testing FSX with the new GPU. Friend changed his graphics card - 7800GT to 8800GTS (G92).
